Christine Howard-Swan, intern
For 13+ years I have been involved in the mental health field as a teacher and a practitioner. I have worked in social services, providing advocacy, counseling, and case management for people with mental illness and substance dependence. I am trauma informed and I have experience in mindfulness meditation, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and CBT techniques. I utilize an integrative approach that considers mind, body and spirit.
I hold a bachelor's degree in sociology and I am currently completing a Masters of Social Work at Aurora University. I have also invested 12 years of training in Women’s Circle work. This specific model has been developed by Marilyn Dam-Rabolt, BSN, MSN and utilizes a feminine-centered leadership framework that is relational, collaborative, culturally diverse, inter-generational and appreciative of differences. The mission of this work is to develop experiential learning communities for women that are structured to promote self awareness, self accountability and self-leadership skills training.
My goal is to provide a woman-centered safe space and support where my clients can feel seen, heard, and understood. I will offer tools to help my clients find balance, boundaries, personal insight and a strong connection to their own voice and wisdom. I am committed to supporting women of all ages and in all walks of life in finding their innate female power. I am a lifelong learner and seeker, and a mother of two college students.
